Winemaking Process:

Wine fermented after partial destemming at controlled temperature, 24/28C., when the must reaches the desired sweetness, fermentation is then interrupted by adding brandy (77%), ageing in oak wood barrels for a minimum period of seven years, in our warehouses in Vila Nova de Gaia, till bottling.

Tasting Notes:

Light tawny wine, with tertiary complex and very fine aromas, notes to "vinagrinho", noble volatile acidity, and spices as cinnamon and red pepper, bringing us an elegant, harmonious and noble bouquet.

Great volume at taste and well balanced inner nose aromas, a noble and persistent after taste.

We may enjoy this wine as an aperitif served with cottage cheese toasts toped with aromatic herbs, rolled bacon with prunes, Iberian ham canapés or even canapés of olives with cappers.

As a digestive matches perfectly with a cheese board and roasted dry fruits.

What is a "Porto Colheita"?

It's a high quality Port of a strict vintage. Matures in wooden barrels for at least seven years, after that period it can then be bottled.

When of the maturation in cask, the young, fruity and fresh aromas develop by an oxidation process; turn to a bouquet giving place to aromas of dry fruits, and also to toasting, wooden and spicy aromas. When of the ageing, it gains more softness, harmony and complexity in the bouquet.

The colour changes to tawny, getting some green hues in older wines.
