  • Winemaking Process:

In our Quinta located in Cima Corgo sub-region. We select the best grapes such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz e Tinta Barroca.

This grapes have been carefully selected and handpiched being the carried to the winery in 40kg boxes.

In order to get the best tannins extraction from grapes we use human steps on grapes.

The old Schist lagars help to stabilize the temperature keeping that between 26 and 28ºC. This way we extract the best fruit aromas.

The degradation of the malic acid took place in stainless steel tanks. The aging have been made in French oak barrels where the wine maturated for the following 8 months.

    Tasting Notes:

The selection was rigorous and the best wines were selected to be further aged in second year barriques for four months. This has given the wine a powerful perfumed nose and a elegant integrated tannic structure .Though ready to drink now this wine will age further and gain in complexity.

Below is our personal tasting notes, we hope you will enjoy our wine and we look forward to hearing from our customers both old and new, as ever we look forward to providing a service as individual as our customers needs.

Dark crimson core with a pronounced purple rim.

The nose offers exotic bazaar spices integrating with a underlying heady perfume of prunes and violets.

Medium to full bodied with well judged alcohol leads to a satisfying palette of wood spice and smooth tannins, lucisious hints of dark berries and chocolate graduating to a hint of schist from which the wine was born, with glycerine evident both within the glass and on the long satisfying finish. Underlying acidity both refreshes and cleanses ones palette making this a memorable experience.

The finish is long fading to dried red fruits and is expressive and true to the wines douro birth place.
